Instructions for assembling the concrete elements (crests and ornamental arch bricks)
Please use qualified personnel for product assembling. The General Standards for labour protection will be applied on the site and the products will be carefully stored in order to avoid breaking into pieces or crushing of the product.
Crests: in order to obtain the smoothness, please make sure that the surface where the fence post caps are placed is clean and leveled. Before assembling, the product is submerged into the water for 10 minutes in order to facilitate the adherence to the support layer. A layer of max. 4 cm of adhesive is applied (it is advisable to use CM11) on the pillar’s surface, and the fence post cap is applied on the adhesive layer. The material excess is removed with a paint-brush.
Ornamental arch bricks:
A pit of minimum 40 cm depth is dug (for pillars) and of minimum 25 cm depth (for masonry), and its margins are larger than the arch brick’s size by 10 cm. The concrete is cast in this pit being careful to fasten the reinforcement into the concrete. The foundation obtained in such manner must be flat, above the soil.
Place the arch bricks one in top of the other (for pillars) by gliding, with reinforcement placed inside or one next to the other (for masonry), permanently watching the smoothness. Inside the arch bricks the concrete is cast. When the work is finished, it is abundantly wetted.
The surface of the concrete elements is recommended to be painted in order to avoid its deterioration in time.
Maintenance instructions
During assembling and after its execution, the following phenomena may occur:
Dark coloured spots (brown or black) are generated by factors of organic nature and/or excessive moisture in presence of the alkali salts and moisture.
Water with a high content of sodium chloride and the acid rains can affect the aesthetical appearance and especially the concrete durability. In order to reduce this phenomenon, it is recommended to use materials according to these instructions, to avoid moisture, to use waterproofing agents and to avoid using chemical substances, acids and/or salt. To clear the snow non-metallic tools will be used.
