The legislator wants the rainwater to be, as much as possible, directly drained to the subsoil. The national laws on waters require drainage to be done everywhere possible. Legislative approvals regarding the water issue for land consolidation constructions with infiltration capacity are not necessary.
Does your soil absorb enough water? In case you want to use paving systems, your soil must sustain pouring rains.
This is the reason why you must test the water absorption capacity depending on the time required for a 10 litres water quantity to infiltrate into the soil to a 30 cm depth.
Infiltration time up to: 2 minutes ... good water permeability of the soil
Infiltration time from: 2 up to 20 minutes... sufficient water permeability of the soil yet.
Infiltration time for more than: 20 minutes the soil is not permeable enough (you should consult the specialists). Do not use a surface consolidation with infiltration capacity.
1. A 10-30 cm earth layer is removed from the surfaces to be paved and the dislocated earth is replaced with gravel. The gravel is equally distributed on the earthwork, is flattened with a rake and it is settled with the gauge. Over the gravel a layer of dry and clean sand is laid (for the products recommended to be assemblied on the sand) and a layer of dry blanket (cement recommended mark is AS 32.5 in order to prevent the dark coloured spots – brown or black, which are generated by organic factors, like the impurities present in the cement or aggregates) for the products recommended to be assemblied on dry blanket.
2. The paving tiles assembly is executed by simply fitting them in the desired configuration.
3. In order to obtain smoothness, the paving tiles are drove in by a rubber hammer. Pay attention! Due to the fact that the Samouna pavement is manually produced, some thickness differences of +/- 3 may occur. These are inbuilt differences but the sand or blanket layer plays the role of leveling these irregularities.
After finishing paving, a dry and clean sand layer is scattered, then the paved surface is cleaned, by sweeping.
